TREASURE ISLAND FLEA MARKET #Feature

One of my MOST favorite feelings in the world is having someone compliment a top or dress, and me saying “Oh, I got it at a flea market/thrift store for (Insert ridiculously low price here)” I love shopping, mostly because it's like a game to me. I give myself a budget and tell myself I can't go over it NO MATTER what, and see what I can come up with.

So on my last weekend during my recent San Francisco sojourn, I was ecstatic to visit the Treasure Island Flea Market, over 400 vendors of home made stuff, second hand clothing, accessories and even furniture, and food trucks galore. And can I just mention the view? You get to see both the Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge in one place! The vendors are friendly, very helpful and really love talking about their wares. My super  chit-chatty daughter went home with so many free things because she would be genuinely interested in certain items, and they would end up just giving them to her! Lucky Girl (I think she was the "shopping" winner that day- everything she got was FREE!)

Unfortunately, I didn't get to try any of the food trucks. We got there late because my friend was hungover and could not pick me up earlier (LOL!) and it was a weird time to eat so I held off for UMAMI (a.k.a my BURGER SOULMATE but more on that in another post) but if you are hungry, you will not be disappointed. There were about 20 trucks with different types of grub. There was also a little section with kids activities like a big bouncy castle and bungee thing, plus a small petting "zoo" area.

Our tickets were about $11 with a glass of wine. Wait, what? Drinking in a public area too? I was so in! I MISS SAN FRANCISCO! One day, I will live there. Here are a few snaps from that day!
