BAG O' SHRIMPS #WIAT (What I Ate Today)

This is actually a #WWAT post (What WE ate) and by We I mean your two friendly fat kitches. We went to Bag O' Shrimps one Thursday evening, hungry and tired from the day's activities. I was happy to see that we did not have to go through a litany of choices because their menu is short and sweet. You pick how much shrimp you want (or crabs, lobster or clams- or all if you'd like!) then you pick your flavor, from the mildest Bag O' Momma to the Spiciest Garlic Butter and then decide if you want to add corn on the cob and sausage in the mix. In about ten minutes, your steaming bag of seafood will be laid in front of you, on paper tablecloths and you will be handed  a bib- and we advice you wear it! Everyone else will look just as silly so don't worry!

As you can see in the picture above, we massacred our food. We had two 500 gram bags of shrimp with corn and sausage, PLUS fried asparagus ( yummy with a squeeze of lemon) fried oysters (ditto!) and Crab Bomb Sticks (aka Jalapeno and Crabsticks wrapped in lumpia wrapper and deep fried. We were on a mission! Since Dane likes her spicy food, she ordered a spicier flavor than I did, because my palate is weaksauce when it comes to heat. I know, boo me!

The shrimp is packed with flavor, so I made sure to suck out all the shrimp brains too (Is it really the brains you are eating when you suck on the heads? Whatever it is, YUM!) I honestly could have lived without the sausages but for carnivores, it will add the extra heft that you need in a "real" meal, if you know what I mean. You can also order rice to go with your meal but even if carbs are not the enemy in my life, I wanted to focus my attention, and my stomach's capacity, on the star of the show.

I would not recommend this place for a first date ( so many ways this could go wrong!) but for a date with your girlfriends or longtime partner, family or even with workmates after a long day slaving away, it is perfect. It's nice not to have to deal with utensils for awhile (Yes, kamayan style is the norm here!) Please come hungry because you will need all the space you can get.

Bag O ' Shrimps is located at Tuscany McKinnley Hill. Call 5852789 for table reservations.
